History of West Point Farms 1

The historic log cabins

The lodge at West Point Farms is actually two cabins, both discovered in northern Virginia within a half mile of each other, and both scheduled for "burn and bury" demolition to make way for a major shopping center. Richard Loftus, the owner and builder of West Point Farms, had the cabins meticulously dismantled, the logs numbered, moved to the present site, and reconstructed in accordance with modern building codes. In a way, the cabins are a form of recycling!
